  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  8. Place biscuit pieces in a bowl, drizzle with melted butter, and toss to coat.
  9. Spread buttered biscuit pieces on a lightly greased baking sheet and par-bake for 5-7 minutes until slightly puffed and beginning to brown.
  10. Arrange par-baked biscuit pieces evenly over the chicken mixture.
  11. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are golden and filling is bubbling around edges.
  12. Let casserole rest 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not thaw frozen vegetables before adding to filling to save time, but monitor moisture level., Shredded rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut and adds flavor. Leftover baked or roasted chicken works as well., If biscuits brown too fast, loosely tent the dish with foil during baking., Add dried thyme or poultry seasoning to filling for extra flavor., Swap cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or celery for variations., Different toppings such as store-bought pie crust, puff pastry, or homemade drop biscuit dough can be used., Use cooked turkey or rotisserie turkey instead of chicken for a holiday twist., Crumbled cooked bacon can add smoky flavor.
