Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Hot dogs
  • 1 package Crescent Roll Dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Open the crescent roll package and unroll the dough. Press on the perforations to seal the dough together into one sheet.
  3. Spread the dough into a rectangle.
  4. Slice the dough into 1/4-inch strips.
  5. Wrap the dough strips loosely around each hot dog in a mummy style, stretching and overlapping with small gaps showing the hot dog.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on a parchment-lined or lightly greased baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Optional: Brush the dough with egg wash (1 beaten egg mixed with 1 tsp water) for a shinier, deeper color.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the dough is golden and the hot dogs are warmed through, rotating the pan halfway if needed.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  10. Attach candy eyes by placing a tiny dab of ketchup or mustard on the back of each eye and pressing two onto each mummy, or dot ketchup/mustard directly on the mummy to make eyes.

Notes

If candy eyes are not available, use dots of ketchup, mustard, small olive slices, or tiny cheese squares as eye substitutes., Pressing perforations in the crescent dough helps keep dough intact while wrapping., Wrap mummies ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake, adding 1-2 minutes if baking from cold., To achieve extra shine and deep golden color, brush with egg wash before baking.
