A hearty and easy-to-assemble meatball board featuring warm BBQ sauced meatballs, bold cheeses, crunchy pretzels, fresh veggies, and dips — perfect for game day, gatherings, or a casual hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • Frozen meatballs (amount per package directions; serving for 6-8 people)
  • BBQ sauce (enough to coat meatballs and extra for dipping, approx. 1 cup)
  • Dill Havarti cheese, cubed (approx. 8 oz)
  • Sharp Cheddar cheese, sliced (approx. 8 oz)
  • Ranch dip (about 1 cup)
  • Pretzel thins (1 bag or about 6 oz)
  • Pretzel bites (1 bag or about 6 oz)
  • Cucumber, halved lengthwise and sliced (1 medium cucumber)
  • Crinkle cut carrots (1 cup)
  • Celery sticks (4 stalks, reserve tops for garnish)
  • Mini bell peppers, halved (6-8)
  • Radish, quartered (4-6)
  • Pepperoncini peppers (about 10 peppers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat frozen meatballs according to package directions or bake at 350°F for 15-25 minutes until hot throughout (internal temperature 165°F).
  3. Preheat a small 5-inch cast-iron skillet.
  4. Toss the hot meatballs in BBQ sauce until evenly coated with no dry spots.
  5. Transfer the sauced meatballs to the preheated cast-iron skillet and keep warm.
  6. Place the skillet with meatballs safely on the serving board once the pan has cooled enough to touch.
  7. Place pepperoncini peppers in a small bowl and ranch dip in another small bowl; set both on the board.
  8. Arrange sliced sharp cheddar and cubed dill Havarti cheeses around the bowls and skillet.
  9. Arrange larger sliced veggies — cucumber slices, halved mini bell peppers, celery sticks, and crinkle-cut carrots — around the board.
  10. Fill remaining spaces with smaller produce (radish quarters), extra cubed cheese, pretzel thins, and pretzel bites, separating colors for visual contrast.
  11. Garnish the board with reserved celery tops.
  12. For vegetarian guests, heat and sauce meatless meatballs separately and label to avoid cross-contamination.

Notes

Use a small cast-iron skillet to keep meatballs warm longer and add a rustic presentation touch., Let the skillet cool enough before placing where guests will reach to avoid burns., Pretzel thins and bites add a crunchy alternative to crackers for dipping in ranch or BBQ sauce., You can swap to vegetarian meatballs for a meat-free option, keeping them separate to avoid cross-contamination., Pair with beers, hard ciders, fruity sodas, or sparkling mocktails., Add other dips like onion dip, artichoke dip, or cheddar cheese dip if desired., Serve extra meatballs with French rolls to build mini meatball subs, including extra BBQ sauce and mozzarella cheese., Store leftovers in airtight containers, refrigerate meatballs for 3-4 days or freeze up to 2 months, and reheat thoroughly before serving.
