Festive star-shaped pretzels dipped in milk chocolate and decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles, perfect for Fourth of July celebrations. Salty and sweet with a satisfying crunch, easy to make and great for parties or gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Star-shaped pretzels (or any pretzel shape you like)
  • 12 oz milk chocolate chips (can be swapped for semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, helps keep the chocolate silky and smooth)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles for decoration
  • Parchment paper or wax paper (for easy cleanup)
  • Toothpicks or a fork (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Lay a large sheet of parchment or wax paper on the counter to serve as the drying area for pretzels.
  2. Set sprinkles in bowls and have toothpicks or forks ready for dipping pretzels.
  3. Place chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth; alternatively, melt slowly in a double boiler on the stove.
  4. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each pretzel fully for full coverage or dip only one side for a half-dip, tapping off excess chocolate.
  5. Immediately sprinkle red, white, and blue sprinkles over the wet chocolate before it sets.
  6. Place each dipped pretzel on the parchment paper to set.
  7. Let the chocolate harden at room temperature or chill the tray in the fridge for about 15 minutes to speed setting.

Notes

Work quickly after dipping so the chocolate is still soft when adding sprinkles to ensure they stick well., Store finished pretzels in a sealed container at room temperature for up to five days., If refrigerating, separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking and avoid chocolate sweating when warmed up again., Use allergy-friendly swaps like gluten-free pretzels and dairy-free (vegan) chocolate for dietary restrictions.
