Notes

You can make the dip milder by removing jalapeño seeds and membranes or using fewer peppers., Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3–4 days., Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes or microwave in short bursts., Dip can be frozen before or after baking for up to 8 weeks; thaw overnight before reheating., Vegetarian option: skip bacon and add smoked paprika or roasted red peppers., For a spicy kick, add jalapeño seeds or minced serrano pepper., Use light or reduced-fat dairy for a lower-fat version., Slow cooker option: cook on low 1–2 hours until melty, stirring before serving., Pre-shredded cheese is not recommended due to added starch affecting melt quality., Using pre-cooked bacon saves time.
